Strength and Beauty

At Generate, we believe in order to be a spiritually healthy ministry, we must first make our people spiritually healthy.

Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." The best way we know to accomplish this is through fellowship between young men and women and challenging one another's journey with Christ. Our "Strength and Beauty" communities meet every Wednesday after service and every Sunday at 9:15am on campus.

The next step for anyone wanting a deeper connection with Christ is to be involved in a community; A community where you will learn the beginning spiritual disciplines necessary for you to experience all that God has for you in this life. We would love to see you connected and involved, if you have any questions please contact us at generatelife.com.

Basic Training

The goal of Basic Training is to prepare each trainee for a life of Passionate World Change. It is the key component in our endeavor to build a core volunteer base that is not only the most effective group of servants our world has ever seen, but also the most passionate. Basic Training equips those who are eager to both learn and serve in order to fill the great need for humble yet fervent servants within our church.

In every corporation, business, sports team, and military branch, there is a training system set up to ensure that each individual is fully prepared to handle their future duties and responsibilities. Basic Training parallels these systems by equipping and building up the body of Christ to do the work of His Kingdom. Trainees grow in their walk with the Lord through time spent meditating on God's word and serving those around them. But, more importantly than both the service and memorization of verses alone, is that each trainee understands the "why" behind these actions. Jesus draw attention to the importance of service when He reminds his disciples that, "the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28).

In all things we aspire to be made Christ-like. This happens daily with the renewing of our minds as we spend time with Him; we believe this should also apply to us in the way we serve. Remember that the Son of God, our Lord and Savior came to serve us all to the point of death. Why wouldn't we follow His example? Hebrews 12:3 says to "consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Service prompted by guilt falls terribly short of God's desire for "work produced by faith, labor prompted by love, and endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ," (1 Thess. 1:3). True service occurs when the love for Christ in a person's heart compels them to act with their hands and feet.

There is a tendency for individuals to feel that they gain a sense of entitlement when it comes to serving in more visible positions at the church. In the Air Force, there are many important positions other than being a pilot. As a matter of fact, the Air Force couldn't run if there weren't people to protect the Air Force bases, cook the food, load up cargo onto planes, or fix broken planes and vehicles. Similarly, not everybody is called to be a pastor. Basic Training is designed to effectively discover your individual gifts and direct you to a ministry where those gifts can flourish in the body of Christ. In Paul's first letter to the church at Corinth, he emphasizes the importance of each part of the body of Christ, whether big or small.

"And the eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you'; or again the head to the feet, 'I have no need for you.' On the contrary, it was much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable, whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it."
1 Corinthians 12:21-26

Success in Basic Training rests entirely on a trainee's dedication and willingness to follow, serve and learn. That is, instructors will do their best to train and encourage each trainee, but it is your responsibility to feed your spirit by reading His word and applying it to your life. Wisdom and discernment can only come from calling upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So that's Basic Training.
We are a cause-driven community.
We are committed to building passionate world changers.
We are growing together.
